The Risk and Fraud Analyst is responsible for identifying, investigating, and mitigating fraudulent activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements. This role involves monitoring customer accounts, reviewing transactions, analyzing suspicious activities, and making risk-based decisions to protect the business and its customers from financial losses. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced BPO environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer accounts and transactions to detect suspicious or fraudulent activities.
- Investigate fraud alerts, disputes, chargebacks, and high-risk transactions.
- Analyze customer behavior and transaction patterns to identify potential risks.
- Review documentation and account information to verify customer identity.
- Make informed decisions to approve, decline, or escalate transactions based on established policies.
- Document investigation findings accurately and maintain detailed case records.
- Escalate complex fraud cases to the appropriate internal teams or clients.
- Ensure compliance with client guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Customer Service, Compliance, and
- Operations to resolve fraud-related issues.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen fraud detection and risk mitigation efforts.
- Meet productivity, quality, accuracy, and service level targets.
- Stay updated on emerging fraud trends, industry best practices, and evolving fraud schemes.
Qualifications
- At least 1–2 years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, financial services, banking, e-commerce, or a BPO environment is an advantage.
- Knowledge of fraud detection tools and risk assessment methodologies is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-site work arrangement.
