The usual workday looked a little different for Reliasourcing employees on August 23, 2026. Headsets, workstations, and daily tasks gave way to jerseys, team chants, competition, and plenty of cheering as employees gathered at Manila Tytana Colleges for Reliasourcing Sportsfest 2026. The annual event brought colleagues together for a full day of basketball, volleyball, cheerdance, and the Muse Competition.
This year’s program began with the introduction of teams and the Muse Competition before moving into the basketball matches, cheerdance competition, volleyball tournies, and championship games.
A Full Day Outside the Usual Work Routine
Sportsfest has become one of the occasions where employees from different accounts, departments, and teams get to interact in a setting far removed from their everyday responsibilities.
The day opened with the Muse Competition, including a runway and talent showcase, before Unassigned, West Side, Team XP, and Back Ops took the basketball court. The morning also featured a cheerdance face-off between Tailor Brand Bellas and ETD Dance Troupe.
Volleyball took over in the afternoon. Back Ops faced Team United, while CS Assassins went up against TB Aces, with the winners advancing directly to the championship. The basketball finalists then returned to the court for the final championship match of the day. After the final whistles and performances, four names and teams emerged at the top of this year’s competitions:

Behind the trophies, however, two of this year’s individual awardees pointed to something much less individual: their teammates.
Kim: Leadership Built on Trust
For Kim, a Customer Service Representative, earning the Basketball MVP recognition came down to more than individual performance. What stood out most to him was the leadership he brought to the court and how he helped his teammates play as one unit. “I was able to make my teammates understand their role.”
He believed that setting the example and keeping the team aligned played a major role in how they continued winning throughout the tournament. And when asked who helped him perform at his best, Kim immediately pointed back to his teammates. Their confidence in him allowed him to focus on playing his role, while one word captured what he felt made his individual recognition possible: “TRUST.” The trust gave him room to lead while also relying on the people around him.
Pressure, meanwhile, wasn’t something he overcomplicated. “I just enjoyed every moment of the game.” Rather than allowing the stakes to take over, Kim focused on being present and enjoying the competition. It’s also the mindset he would recommend to anyone considering joining the next Sportsfest: “Just have fun and make sure to bring portable fan.” He says to simply enjoy the experience, but come prepared for a full day inside the gym.
Jaypee: Winning Starts With Making Everyone Part of the Team
For Volleyball MVP Jaypee, a Senior Customer Service Representative, one match stood above the rest. CS Assassins entered their first game knowing there was little margin for error. It was a knockout match against the same team they had faced in the previous year’s championship, “A loss would have meant the end of our journey.” The opening game already carried championship-level pressure because there would be no second chance.
The match against TB stretched to three sets before CS Assassins finally came out on top, making it the performance Jaypee felt most satisfied with.
The eventual championship, however, wasn’t something he attributed to himself alone. Some members of the team were new, and not everyone entered the tournament with the same level of volleyball experience. What mattered was making sure everyone felt part of the group, “My teammates and I make sure that everyone is a part of the team.”
Jaypee also singled out his longtime friend and teammate Erickson Magsino for helping him throughout the tournament. “Without him, we might not have won and I would not have been named MVP.”
Perhaps the most unexpected part of their championship run was how little formal preparation went into it, “We didn’t do any preparation, no practice or training at all.” Their approach was simple: support one another, play the game, and enjoy the experience regardless of the final result. That same idea shaped Jaypee’s advice for future participants: “Focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoying the experience rather than just winning.”
More Than the Final Score
Sportsfest naturally produces winners, trophies, MVPs, and memorable championship moments. Yet its value to employees isn’t limited to who finishes first.
Jaypee’s advice for future participants reflected that distinction. He encouraged employees to participate actively and prepare early, but also to use Sportsfest as an opportunity to meet colleagues from other departments. Above all, he emphasized sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoying the experience instead of concentrating only on winning, a sentiment that fits the purpose of the annual event.
A colleague you normally encounter through chats, meetings, or workplace tasks can suddenly become the teammate setting up your next play, the opponent across the net, or the person cheering from the sidelines. For a day, employees get to see another side of the people they work with.
Last year’s Sportsfest similarly showed how the event could create stronger connections outside the workplace, with participants describing how competition helped colleagues interact more personally and break down some of the barriers of the usual work setting, and Sportsfest 2026 continued that tradition.
Another Sportsfest in the Books
One day was enough for plenty of competition, close games, performances, celebrations, and new Sportsfest memories.
Congratulations to Back Ops, CS Assassins, ETD Dance Troupe, Alieza Austria, Kim Paulo Laderas, Jaypee Geronimo, and everyone who stepped onto the court or stage for Reliasourcing Sportsfest 2026.
